The Nomination Box

Nominees are the people targeted for eviction. It is the responsibility of the Head of Household to choose houseguests to nominate for eviction.

The Nomination CeremonyEdit

The Head of Household selects houseguests to nominate for eviction. The HOH usually chooses two nominees but this may change in some occasions due to a twist.

The ceremony is usually done with the HOH announcing all the houseguests he/she deems safe until eventually leaving the houseguests who are not called to be determined as the nominees for eviction.

The BackdoorEdit

It is a popular strategy to place two houseguests in an opposing alliance to the Head of Household on Nomination Block. However, because both nominees get to play in the Veto, a popular strategy called "backdooring" places two "decoy nominations" on the block. The HOH doesn't want either of the nominees to go home, they are merely used as placeholders until after the Veto. This prevents a strong competitor from playing in the Veto, thus saving themselves. Instead, the Veto is guaranteed to be used and the HOH selects their true target as the replacement, thus leaving them defenseless.

Nominations TwistsEdit

The following are twists that affect the nomination process for a week or multiple weeks:

Random NomineesEdit

Random Nominees or Random Nomination or Eviction Nominee Randomizer is a twist that involves disregarding the nominations made by the Head of Household and instead, nominees are determined randomly via a generator (usually the one from This twist was introduced in the second season of Big Brother ORG.

In Week 5 of Big Brother 2, the Head of Household, Tom nominated Dani and Boo for eviction. However, he pressed the button on the Control Panel that caused the Eviction Nominee Randomizer. This resulted in Dani and Boo being removed from the block and replaced randomly by Tommy and Tyler R.

Extra NominationEdit

An Extra Nomination involves the addition of another eviction nominee to the pre-existing nominations made by the Head of Household.

In Week 3, Jack received Penny the Possessed Doll by entering the Kid's Bedroom of The Upstairs. After allowing the doll to enter the house by adding it to the Facebook Chat, Jack received the ability to nominate a third houseguest for eviction. Jack chose to put Priscilla on the block which resulted in her getting evicted.

  • Emma holds the record for most times nominated.
  • Nick is the only winner to be nominated Week 1.
  • Tyler is the only winner to not be nominated for eviction after the Power of Veto.
